Delta Doctor, Yinkore Urges Individuals To Embrace Covid 19 Vaccination, Says Vaccines Safe

ASABA/Nigeria: The need for people to desist from peddling unnecessary rumours of any health side effects of the Covid-19 vaccines, procured by Nigeria and embrace the vaccine for their safety has been stressed.

The Director of Community Health Services and Immunisations, Delta State Primary Health Care Agency, Dr. Paul Yinkore, made the call in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area, during his supervision visit to the community to  access the level of compliance with the ongoing polio Immunisation for children between zero to five years.

Dr. Yinkore, who described the rumour of negative effects of the Covid-19 vaccine as false and baseless, recalled that scientists all over the world had been working tirelessly to provide vaccines that would protect people from contacting the virus.

He stated that all the world leaders had continued to put measures in place towards providing the needed solution to coronavirus pandemic, adding that the vaccines that were brought to Nigeria was very safe.

While staying that the traditional certain of  storing other vaccines was the same way Covid 19 vaccines could be preserved and stored through the Expanded Programme of Immunisation, Dr. Yinkore disclosed that the first phase of vaccination was meant for health workers who could be vulnerable to any disease since they were always in contact with patients.

The Director of Community Health Services and Immunisation, however, said that more people especially those within certain age bracket would access the vaccine when government procured more Covid-19 vaccines.

Dr. Yinkore lauded the state government’s approach to safeguarding the health of Deltans and residents.
