ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu has said that the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education will consolidate on its achievements, especially in the area of timely releasing of results of every examination conducted by the state.
Mrs. Ezewu stated this during a meeting with the Directors of the Ministry and other stakeholders in Asaba.
She affirmed that the need to release such results on time was a strategic initiative towards ensuring that students accessed their results and know their performances to enable them to decide on the next line of action concerning their academic activities.
She hinted that the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the 2022 Cognitive/Placement Examination had been released in record time, stressing that the concerned candidates should check their results online with the use of scratch cards.
Mrs. Ezewu, however, described the achievements of Okowa’s administration in the education system as unprecedented, adding that from the onset the administration had considered education as one of its topmost priorities.
While urging teachers in the state to always reciprocate the government’s gesture in the education system by taking their welfare seriously, Mrs. Ezewu said that the only way to do that was for them to redouble their commitments to duty for the overall benefits of the children.
Meanwhile, some principals of public secondary schools in the state have commended the Ministry for the prompt release of BECE and primary six results in the state.
Those who spoke including the principal of Westend Mixed Secondary School, Asaba, Mrs. Augusta Ogeah, and the principal of Niger Mixed Secondary School, Asaba, Mr. Benjamin Aseyeni said that it was a good thing for results to be released on time.
