DELTA FA CUP: Delta Queens Champions Again … Highest Goal Scorer Dedicate Goals to God and Team mates, Aims Greater Height … CEO Happy With Result

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta Queens Fc Asaba on Saturday emerged Female Champions, Delta FA Cup.

The Okowa Babes achieved the feat following a 3-1 win over Olori Babes of Warri.

Delta Queens took an early goal advantage when Brume Ikhueke net in the first goal. The lead was however short lived as Peace Abbay equalised to put the visitors back on track before Marian Ohadiwe knocked in a second for the host in the 26th minute to seal off a 2-1 lead in the first half.

At the start of the second half, it took 20 minutes of play before the only goal of the half came through Brume Ikhueke, to place the home side at a 3-1 lead till the end of the game.

It will be recalled that the defending Champion in last edition also defeated their opponents to clinch the oldest trophy in the land.

They were later awarded Medals and Prize Money of #300,000 naira while their opponent got #150,000

Reacting to her performance during the match, Brume Ikhueke who scored a brace as her side Delta Queens of Asaba, defeated Olori Babes Of Warri by three goals to one said she is humbled to be instrumental to her side’s victory.

In a chat with the teams  Media Officer, Oris Esima-Aniretan shortly after the medal presentation at the Stephen keshi Stadium, the lanky but pacy attacker said she dedicated the goals to God first, her team mates and the Delta Queens Management.

Miss Brume Ikhueke who scored the first goal of the Delta female FA Cup final at the 6th minute and 60th minute respectively noted that she would not have been able to do it alone but for support from other team makes.

She said her greatest motivation is from God, and the hope that she could be invited for national assignment in the nearest future as she looks forward to becoming a household name with the super falcons and play outside the shores of the country.

She however called for the organisers of the female league to be more organised and do everything possible to ensure they have sufficient play time.

It will be recalled that while the men’s league is already ending for the season, the women are yet to commence.

The Chief Executive Officer/General Manager, Delta Queens Fc, Henrrientta Eriabor has congratulated the team for a well deserved Victory over rivals Olori Babes of Warri on Saturday in the State’s Female FA Cup.

While commending the visiting side for putting up a good fight, she hailed the Okowa babes who she side showed reasons they have remained the FA champion in the state.

Miss Henrietta urged the players and Management Staff to be up and doing and focus on topping up on the achievement which she said marks a good beginning while waiting for the start of a new season in the Nigerian Women Premier League.

Delta Queens fc Asaba remain back to back champions in the Delta State FA Cup, female Category on Saturday(June 8th) with a 3-1 Win over Olori Babes Of Warri.
