ASABA/Nigeria: Delta Football Association (DFA) Chairman, Chief Ken Nwaomucha, has announced a substantial increase in the prize money for the highly anticipated second edition of the state’s football league finals. Set to unfold at the Kwale Township Stadium on Thursday, November 16, 2023, the revised prize pot now stands at an impressive N2 million, a significant bump from the initial N1.8 million.
Nwaomucha detailed the revamped distribution, unveiling that the league champions would secure N1 million, while the second, third, and fourth-place winners stand to earn N500,000, N300,000, and N200,000 respectively.
Underlining the commitment to fostering widespread football development, Nwaomucha underscored that the league finals would be held at the Kwale Stadium. He assured meticulous preparations for a seamless event and urged participating teams to adhere strictly to the game’s regulations.
The spotlight shines brightly on two exceptional teams, PFA FC and Great Avengers, as they solidify their positions in the grand final. Alongside the championship spectacle, a compelling third-place match between Ndame FA of Kwale and Mighty Wanderers of Abraka is slated to kick off at 12 noon at the Kwale Township Stadium.
