ASABA/Nigeria: In a bid to improve the beauty of the capital city and permanently clear the city metropolis of all illegal trading activities, the DSCTDA has built more Smart Delta Fruits Shops at various strategic locations in Asaba, which include Infant Jesus Road and 74 areas to cater for the small business unit in a well-organized cluster.
The Director General of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Hon. Joan Onyemaechi, stated this today while addressing traders at one of the Smart Delta Fruits Shops at infant Jesus Road on the negative and harmful effects street trading was having on the State Capital.
She said that through the Agency monitoring services, residents and shop owners have been sensitized to imbibe good sanitary culture and sustainable practices on their road setback, drainage system, efficient and effective waste disposal, and the overall cleanliness of their surroundings for the public good.
“The roads set back belong to the Government and it is in our best interest to make sure we safeguard and preserve them for our use,” she said.
She, therefore, assured residents and traders in Asaba capital Territory that the agency would not rest on its oars in ensuring that sanitary was maintained in the State Capital.
She, however, stated that the task force of the Agency is working assiduously to make sure that offenders were brought to book.
