ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Signage and Advertising Agency (DESAA) has embarked on the sealing up of business premises that have failed to comply with the payment of bills for signage and other forms of outdoor advertisements.
The exercise which was carried out in conjunction with Oshimili South Local Government Council sealed GUO Motors Park, River Niger Head Bridge, including the departure hall of the establishment in line with a Court Order.
The Enforcement team and Chief Operating Officer of DESAA, Mr Victor Umoh, said that the era of businesses refusing to comply with demands of payment for the signage was over stating that the DESAA and Local Government Councils would work in synergy to ensure that revenue meant for the State were duly paid to the State coffers as and when due.
Mr. Umoh further stated that enforcement exercises to ensure compliance would henceforth be regular occurrences in the state.
The leader of the team from Oshimili South Local Government Council, Mrs. Judith Omoko stated that the council was currently prosecuting non-complaint establishments in court.
She said that GUO Motors had been served a demand notice for payment which was contravened before a court order for sealing the premises was obtained.
