ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Senator Douye Diri, the Governor of Bayelsa, on his triumphant re-election in Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
In an official statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, from the on Monday, Governor Oborevwori lauded Diri’s victory as “the reward for Diri’s humility, hard work, and good governance.”
The Delta State Governor went on to commend the people of Bayelsa for steadfastly standing by their leader during critical moments.
Oborevwori emphasized that the electorate, spanning the eight Local Government Areas of the state, resoundingly and unequivocally affirmed their choice of Diri as the Governor of the “Glory of all lands.”
“This re-election,” Governor Oborevwori stated, “has underscored the PDP’s unwavering commitment to instilling prosperity in the oil-rich state, foretelling better days ahead for Bayelsans.”
Oborevwori expressed his elation, saying, “Let me congratulate my brother, Senator Douye Diri, on his victory in the November 11 Governorship election in Bayelsa State. It is heartwarming to see you re-elected as Governor of Bayelsa against all odds.”
He also expressed gratitude to the Bayelsa electorate for resisting the overtures of the opposition, which, he noted, were intent on subverting the will of the people. Additionally, Governor Oborevwori commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for enhancing both the logistics and conduct of the election.
The Delta State Governor extended his congratulations to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Chairman of its National Campaign Council for the Bayelsa Governorship Election, Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State, as well as other members of the Council for their collective efforts that led to the victory.
“I join you and Bayelsans in praying that God grants you wisdom, knowledge, and the necessary resources to fulfill your campaign promises of making Bayelsa State indeed the glory of all lands,” he added.
