ASABA/Nigeria: In a bid to assist vulnerable individuals in the society, with a particular focus on children with autism, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, the wife of Delta Governor, unveiled her pet project, ‘You Matter Charity Foundation,’ during a meeting at the government house in Asaba.
The foundation aligns with her husband’s M.O.R.E Agenda for Deltans, aiming to create a society where every individual feels valued, irrespective of their background. Under the motto, ‘Everybody is Somebody,’ the Governor’s wife emphasized that the foundation will prioritize accessible healthcare and education for children, women empowerment, the elimination of gender-based violence and drug abuse, and outreach programs to uplift rural communities across the state.
During the meeting with the wives of honorable members of the state assembly and chairpersons of the 25 local government areas, Deaconess Oborevwori sought the cooperation of the women towards the success of the initiative. She warmly welcomed collaboration from well-meaning individuals and corporate organizations, urging them to contribute to the noble cause.
She stated, “We appeal for your kind donations as we run this course for the good of all. Your support will be needed as we carry out these programs round the state. Get ready and join the train so we can reach our brothers and sisters at the grassroots. We believe that with a sincere show of concern and expression of love for the vulnerable, they will become valuable and create a world where everybody is somebody.”
In response, the lawmakers’ wives, led by Mrs. Timiebi Guwor, the wife of the Honourable Speaker, and Mrs. Rachel Onoyake, the Chairperson of Chairpersons, expressed their gratitude to God for the victory of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sherriff Oborevwori, in the last election. They also congratulated Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori on her successful assumption of office as the First Lady of Delta State.
The lawmakers’ wives pledged their unwavering support and commitment to the success of the Governor’s wife’s pet project, expressing their prayers for the success of Governor Oborevwori’s administration.
With the launch of the ‘You Matter Charity Foundation,’ Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori has taken a significant step towards building a more inclusive and compassionate society, ensuring that the vulnerable in Delta State receive the support they need to lead fulfilling lives.
