Asaba: The Delta State government has reiterated its resolve to continue to support Deltans as they strive towards the collective development of the state.
Speaking at the 3rd anniversary celebration of Icon Publications in Lagos recently, the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, said that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s government was fully dedicated to the development of Delta State as he was equally working round-the-clock for the good of Deltans irrespective of where they are based.
Mr. Ukah stated that he had been following the activities of the Icon publications and its bid to bolster the image of the state and his government’s developmental strides and portray same to the outside world. He promised to give all forms of support to Delta indigenes whose aim is to make the state great.
Speaking at the occasion, the Managing Director of The Icon, Mr. Julius Akpovire-Enyeh, thanked all for the support given the publication to take it to the top.
He promised to re-order the shape of Nigerian journalism and reportage in a positive way through the publications as well as use the newly formed foundation to give back to the society which has made him what he is today.
The event, which held at 10 Degrees Event Centre, Lagos, attracted the crème de la crème of the society to the venue. The highlight of the day was the unveiling of The Icon’s special edition as well as the launch of The Icon Foundation, an NGO formed to cater for the educational needs of the less-privileged in the country.
