Delta Govt Disburses Emergency Funds to Agbor Fire Victims

AGBOR/Nigeria: The Delta State Government has extended financial relief to victims of the recent fire disaster at Boji-Boji Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area, as part of its continued commitment to the welfare of Deltans under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E Agenda.
Commissioner, Bureau for Special Duties, Hon. Ejiro Etacherure, who presented the assistance on behalf of the governor, conveyed Oborevwori’s empathy and solidarity to the affected residents. Speaking during the presentation, Etacherure lauded the governor for his compassionate leadership and quick approval of funds through the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), aimed at supporting victims who lost lives, properties, and livelihoods in various fire incidents across the state.
“I present to you this financial assistance from the State Government to ameliorate your plight as a result of the unfortunate incident. This is not a compensation for the losses suffered but a way of identifying with you and providing succour from the effects of the disaster,” the Commissioner stated.
He emphasized that the intervention reflects the proactive and humane spirit of Governor Oborevwori’s administration, which has empowered SEMA to respond swiftly to emergencies and natural disasters throughout Delta State.
Etacherure further described the Governor as “a man sent by God to render support to humanity,” noting that the distribution of relief materials and funds aligns with the administration’s determination to stand by citizens during times of distress.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Monday Omoruyi expressed deep appreciation to the Governor and the State Government for the gesture, adding that the support would significantly ease the hardship imposed by the tragic incident.
The relief effort underscores the Oborevwori administration’s ongoing resolve to provide timely intervention and restore hope to communities affected by unforeseen disasters.
