ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Government has called on qualified youths across the state to take advantage of the ongoing admission process into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), as online applications for the 2026 academic session are scheduled to close on Friday, May 15, 2026.
The government said interested applicants seeking admission into the prestigious military institution must complete their registration before the deadline through the official NDA application portal.
This was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Barrister Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe.
According to the statement, the application process is open to both male and female Nigerians between the ages of 17 and 21 years who possess a minimum of five O’Level credits in SSCE, GCE or NECO examinations.
Oghenesivbe explained that candidates are also required to apply through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), select the Nigerian Defence Academy as their first choice institution and participate in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
He disclosed that the NDA application fee is N7,000 only, payable through REMITA platforms initiated directly from the official application portal at NDA Applications Portal
The Director General advised applicants to carefully follow all registration procedures to avoid disqualification during the admission process.
He listed the application requirements to include the creation of an individual profile on the portal using a valid email address and phone number, generation of a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code for payment, proper completion of the online application form and upload of all required credentials, including O’Level results.
Candidates were also advised to print and keep their acknowledgement slips after successful submission of their applications.
Oghenesivbe further announced that the compulsory NDA screening test for the 78th Regular Course has been scheduled to hold nationwide on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
He urged all applicants to prepare adequately for the screening exercise, stressing that successful candidates would undergo a four-year academic and military training programme at the academy.
According to him, graduates of the institution would earn degree certificates and subsequently be commissioned as officers into the various military services by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
The state government encouraged eligible youths in Delta to seize the opportunity to build careers in military service while contributing meaningfully to national security and development.
