ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Patrick Ukah, has assured private media outfits in the state of continued support of government to enable them succeed.
Mr Ukah gave the assurance today when the management of Trend 100.9 Asaba, led by the General Manger, Ijeoma Uba, paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Asaba.
Mr Ukah stated that the presence of private media houses in the state had provided variety and balance in the presentation of views.
While noting that no private media outfit had been hostile to the Delta State
Government, he called for them to continue to be professional in their presentations.
The commissioner challenged media houses to explore deeper the market potentials in the state, citing the huge crowd that thronged the recently concluded five- day CAA Asaba 2018 as the handiwork of rugged marketing of the championship.
He congratulated the new General Manager of Trend 100.9 FM, Ijeoma Uba, on her appointment and assured of a closer working relationship with her outfit.
Earlier, the General Manager of Trend 100.9FM, Asaba, Ijioma Uba, stated that the visit was to formally introduce the new management of the radio station to the commissioner.
She solicited for a stronger partnership between the Ministry of Information and her outfit, affirming that government had in the past been supportive but said that like Oliver Twist, more support and cooperation should be extended.
Present were the Functioning Permanent Secretary in the Ministry , Mr Paul Osahor, the Special Assistant to the Commissioner, Mr Christopher Nwaoboshi, the Deputy Director of Information, Mr Celestine Ofuani, the Media Aide, Mr Sam Ijeh, the Public Relations Officer in the Ministry, Mr Sam Ugbaja, among others.
