ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Government, through its Job and Wealth Creation Bureau, has invited interested youths of the state origin to apply for the 2022 Cycle of the Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP).
According to a statement signed by the state Director of Information, Mrs Theresa Oliko, the application is open to only youths, aged 18-35 years, who are interested and ready to acquire any skill for the first time
The statement listed the areas of skill acquisition to include Catering and Confectionery, Tiling and Interlocking, PoP, Painting and Screed-Making, Electrical and Solar Works, Hairdressing and Braiding, and Audio-Visual Services.
It said the application forms could be collected and submitted either at Delta State Job and Wealth Creation Bureau, Asaba or Governor’s Office Annex, by DBS Warri, from Tuesday, 26th July to Friday 29th July, 2022 between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. daily.
The statement emphasized that the application forms would only be given to interested youths in-person on the presentation of either national identity card, permanent voters card, national driver’s license or international passport.
While clarifying that the application form is free-of-charge, the stressed that youths who have benefited from any of the state government’s job creation and youth empowerment programmes, such as STEP, YAGEP, RYSA, GEST, ICT-YEP, and WESAP are not eligible to apply.
