OBIARUKU/Nigeria: Mr Chidi O. Uwabuofu, a youth sport developer, social critic and a graduate of Philosophy from the University of Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, has joined the Ukwuani Local Government council chairmanship race. Mr Chidi Uwabuofu who hails from Umuebu, declared his intention yesterday under the platform of the Social Democratic Party, SDP after he successfully obtained the party’s nomination form at Asaba. He is the third aspirant to declare after two blood brothers of the same parents, Hon. Chukudi Dafe (a. k. a, Unbreak) and Mr Atua Dafe clinched PDP and APC’s tickets respectively.

Chidi said that his decision to contest for the council Chairmanship position was informed by the desire/yearning of Ukwuani people for responsible leader who can proffer lasting solutions to the dilapidated state of the LGA.
In his words, “I have come to this resolve after careful rumination on the challenges confronting Ukwuani LGA and on the strength of clear understanding of my personal ability and conviction to provide the needed leadership in our collective search for solutions”.
While stating his objectives, he said that if voted in that his administration’s agenda would be in the following areas:
*Accountable Leadership
*All-inclusive Governance
*Improved Security
*A Peaceful and Unified Ukwuani
*Meaningful Empowerment
*Youth Development
*Infrastructural Development
*Resuscitation of Abandoned Projects Across the LGA
*Promotion of the welfare of the market women, less privileged, school children.
