Delta LGA Election: “The Old Ways Must End Now”, Chidi Uwabuofo, Ukwuani SDP Chairmanship Candidate

OBIARUKU/Nigeria:  The chairmanship candidate of the Social democratic Party, SDP, in Ukwuani for the January 2018 Local Government Election, Mr. Chidi Onyechukwu Uwabuofu had promised that the old ways of administering the council Area which had brought low development to the people will end if elected as the Executive Chairman.

Mr Uwabuofu gave the assurance when he took his supporters to visit the Okpala Uku of Obiaruku, to intimate him and the chiefs in council of his intention to contest the chairmanship position under the SDP.

In his speech, he lamented how the council Area have been deprived of the dividend of democracy and constantly lied to over the years because of what he called money politics and maladministration.

According to him, he told the chiefs and supporters that “The old Way Must End now” for the people to witness development.

He stated that he is in the race to correct the ills that are gradually becoming norms in the society today; he stressed the need for the people to shun money politics and embrace a candidate with plans for the local government.

While calling on the people of the local government to come out enmasse to vote for him and be assured of positive changes,  he solicited for the votes of the council of chiefs and promised to uphold his campaign manifestoes which amongst other things include: accountable leadership, all-inclusive leadership, improved security infrastructural development and to foster the unity of Ukwuani Local Government in all ramifications.

The chairmanship hopeful who was welcome by the traditional ruler of Obiaruku Community, His Royal Highness, Okpala-Uku Agagaraga Enefe and Chiefs in Council, was giving a royal blessing.

Okpala-Uku Agagaraga while welcoming Comr. Chidi and his entourage prayed God to grant him success in his campaign and victory in the January 6, 2018 election.
