ASABA/Nigeria: In an exciting turn of events, the 7th National Youth Games is set to become an electrifying blend of sports and entertainment, as Delta State, host of the 2023 game, has secured the talents of renowned music artists Boy Spyce, May D, Khaid, and Cooler Lane to grace the stage and captivate both athletes and spectators alike.
Boy Spyce and May D are poised to take the spotlight at the grand opening ceremony on Saturday, September 23, while Khaid and Cooler Lane are slated to steal the show during the exhilarating closing ceremony on September 30.
This artistic initiative aligns seamlessly with Delta State’s commitment to elevate the National Youth Games to unprecedented heights, promising an unforgettable amalgamation of sporting prowess and entertainment spectacle that will etch indelible memories in the hearts of participants and onlookers.
Hailing from Edo State, Boy Spyce, a standout artist under the prestigious Marvin Records label, is celebrated for chart-toppers such as “EP” and “Folake” (Folake don pompous). His breathtaking rendition of Wizkid’s hit, “Essence,” has also left an indelible mark on music enthusiasts.
May D, an alumnus of the University of Lagos and a member of the illustrious Davido Music Worldwide, burst onto the music scene with his smash hit “Soundtrack,” which swiftly garnered a staggering 10 million views on YouTube upon its release. Notably, May D has collaborated with industry heavyweights including Wizkid, Akon, and Davido himself, solidifying his status as a musical force to be reckoned with.
Khaid’s anthems “Carry Me Go” (Sambisa) and “Jolie” have become synonymous with Nigerian youth culture, resonating deeply with audiences across the nation. Similarly, Cooler Lane’s tracks, such as “Musa Gbe Body” and “Welcome to Qatar,” continue to dominate the charts, reaffirming his position as a rising star in the music industry.
