Delta Motor Spare Parts Market Shut Down Indefinitely

UGHELLI/Nigeria: The Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Delta State, Olorogun Godwin Adode has shut down the Ughelli Motor Spare Parts Market indefinitely because the traders have refused to pay the stipulated dues demanded by the Local Government.

Following the order of the council chair man that Five Hundred Naira be paid to the council for every car repaired, the traders and workmen had engaged in a peaceful protest as the new law did not go down well with them.

As tension continue to rise between the workmen, spare parts traders and council officials, the Council chairman decided to ordered the shutting down of the market till further notice.

Some of the workmen and traders who spoke with press men stated that they pay revenue to both State and Local Government and do not see the reason for other charges on their work.

They went further to appeal to the local government council chairman to be considerate giving that the state of the Nigerian economy was not favourable.

All efforts to reach the council chairman proved abortive as his media assistant was not taking calls.
