ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has put forward two major initiatives aimed at enhancing governance through improved environmental responsibilities and best practices.
This proposal was presented during a courtesy visit by state Executive led by the Chairman Mr. Godfrey C. Osakwe, accompanied by Council Member Mrs. Thelma Okoh, to the Director General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), Chief Patrick Ukah, at his office in Asaba.
Mr. Osakwe during the visit outlined two key initiatives: the Diamond Anniversary Walk for Economic Development and the Green Nigeria Initiative. The latter includes a tree-planting exercise to mark NIPR’s 60th anniversary, scheduled to take place simultaneously across Nigerian state capitals starting June 1, 2024. The discussion also covered how the State Chapter could exploit emerging development opportunities.

Osakwe commended Chief Ukah for his pivotal role in revitalizing the Delta State Chapter of NIPR since 2017. “As the pioneer Chairman of the rebirth NIPR Delta State, your presence and advice will always be of immense value and motivation for PR professionals in Delta State and Nigeria in general,” he remarked.
Chief Ukah, in response, praised the NIPR executive members for their dedication to sustaining the Institute amid various challenges. He pledged his continued support to help the State Chapter achieve its goals, underscoring the importance of their collaborative efforts.
