ASABA/Nigeria: Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, representing Delta North in the national assembly, has won the senatorial primaries to represent PDP in the 2019 general elections, in an election organised today, October 2, 2018 in Asaba to pick the flag bearer who will represent the party.
According to our reporter, the venue of the primary was very peaceful, as the people conducted their activities with calm, despite that the event started as early as 10am in the morning.
As its in any contest, a winner must emerge, the result showed that the winner, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, clinched the ticket with just 53 votes, as he scored 506 votes, as against that of his closest rival, Prince Ned Nwoko, who got 453 votes, while the third aspirant got 216 votes.
There were a total of 1,214 accredited delegates, while a total of 1,194 votes were cast with 19 void votes.
Chief (Mrs) Uzo Nwandu, the PDP returning officer declared Senator Nwaoboshi the winner of the senatorial primary election and returned as the PDP Delta North candidate for the 2019 general elections.
Meanwhile, report reaching our newsroom, indicates that in Delta South the incumbent, Senator James Manager, defeated Michael Diden, while in Delta Central, Mrs Evelyn Oboro won against Senator Ighoyota Amori.
