ASABA/Nigeria: Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has launched moves to reconcile key political figures in Delta State as part of efforts to strengthen peace and unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during a meeting on Sunday with Delta North APC executives, nine local government chairmen, and 98 ward chairmen at the Asaba residence of the party’s senatorial chairman, Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka, Nwoko stressed that harmony among leaders was vital to both party growth and the development of the state.
“I am for peace and collaboration amongst party leaders in Delta North. Efforts are on to reach out to former governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and Senator Peter Nwaoboshi,” he said, adding that he was also engaging with Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme for mutual collaboration.
The lawmaker emphasized that beyond strengthening the APC, his collaboration with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration was targeted at boosting good governance for the benefit of Deltans. He listed his interventions in social infrastructure such as roads, water projects, school rehabilitation, skill acquisition, and job creation, as well as his advocacy for upgrading the Federal College of Education, Asaba to a university and the establishment of a Federal University of Agriculture at Ute-Okpu.
Nwoko declared that his mission in the National Assembly was to drive positive change through people-oriented bills and motions, while Ogbueshi Eluaka commended him for his contributions to party growth and development in Delta North.
The meeting was attended by senatorial executives, the nine APC LGA chairmen, and 98 ward chairmen across the district.
