ASABA/Nigeria: In a show of solidarity and unwavering support, Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Delta North in a meeting convened on Thursday, March 7, 2024, in Asaba, unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, and the immediate past Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
Dame Nkem Okwuofu, a member of the State Advisory Council, led the motion, highlighting Governor Oborevwori’s remarkable commitment to the state’s MORE Agenda across the three Senatorial districts.
She commended his efforts in ensuring the timely payment of workers’ salaries, the proper functioning of health and educational institutions, as well as the awarding of contracts for infrastructure development.
Dame Okwuofu also praised Governor Oborevwori for fostering sustainable peace in the state and for overseeing the completion of projects inherited from the previous administration.
The motion was seconded by Hon. Charles Emetulu, representing Ndokwa West Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, and the stakeholders overwhelmingly endorsed the vote of confidence, with no objections raised.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Oborevwori expressed his gratitude for the support and pledged to continue serving the people of Delta State diligently. He also called for unity and forgiveness within the party, urging members to embrace peace and harmonious coexistence.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme, former Deputy Governor Chief Benjamin Elue, as well as leaders and stakeholders from across the nine Local Government Areas in Delta North Senatorial District. Also present were members of the State House of Assembly, Commissioners from Delta North, Local Government Council Chairmen, and PDP officials.
The stakeholders’ endorsement reaffirms the confidence in the leadership of Governor Oborevwori, Deputy Governor Onyeme, and Senator Okowa, recognizing their contributions to the development and progress of Delta State.
