WARRI/Nigeria: Following the suspension of the protest at the Olero and Dibi flow stations by protesters of riverine communities in Warri North Local Government Area, delegates of the protesting communities have held a consensus meeting with protesters.
The meeting which took place at Idiare Primary School, Gbokoda, was convened to brief the protesters on the recent development as regards discussions with all critical stakeholders on their demands.
One of the delegates of the protesting communities, Mr. Austine Dorsu, who spoke to our correspondent, said discussions are still ongoing, adding that they are hopeful that their demands will be met.
Some of the protesters interviewed, commended the delegates for the briefing, but reinstated their commitment to keeping the struggle as they clamour for better treatment of host communities by Chevron Nigeria Limited.
