Delta Orders Eight Dialysis Machines, CT-Scans for Delta Hospitals

WARRI/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has announced the procurement of eight dialysis machines and CT-Scans to enhance healthcare delivery in the state’s hospitals.

Speaking after inspecting projects in Warri and Uvwie Local Government Areas on Thursday, Oborevwori disclosed that Warri Central Hospital and Asaba Specialist Hospital would each receive three dialysis machines, while Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara, would get two. He assured that the machines and CT-Scans would be delivered by the end of March.

The governor also responded to allegations that some hospital staff were demanding payments from under-five patients and pregnant women, despite the state’s free healthcare policy. He said the Chief Medical Director of Warri Central Hospital denied the claims but urged citizens to report such incidents through the whistleblower line, which he personally manages.

During his inspection of flood control projects and the three flyovers at Enerhen Junction, PTI Junction, and DSC Roundabout, Oborevwori expressed satisfaction with the progress, stating that the projects were already easing traffic congestion. He also directed contractors to expedite work on the storm drainage projects and ongoing road reconstruction in Okpe Local Government Area.
