ASABA/Nigeria: In a show of support and optimism, the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has extended its congratulations to two of its Senatorial Candidates, Senator (Prince) Ned Nwoko of Delta North Senatorial zone, and Hon. Michael Diden (Ejele) of Delta South Senatorial zone, following favourable judgments handed down by the Delta State National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal in Asaba.
In a congratulatory statement released by Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, the State Publicity Secretary of Delta PDP, the party expressed its delight at the Tribunal’s decisions.
The Tribunal declared Senator Nwoko as the duly elected Senator for Delta North Senatorial zone. Furthermore, it ordered a supplementary election between Hon. Diden and his All Progressives Congress (APC) opponent to determine the true winner of Delta South Senatorial zone.
The statement highlighted that these rulings have injected a renewed sense of confidence into the PDP. It believes it can emerge victorious both in the forthcoming supplementary election and the expected procedural appeals that will likely follow in higher courts.
“The favorable judgments from the Tribunal have buoyed our confidence and belief, that ultimate victory is already in sight for the PDP in both Delta North and Delta South Senatorial zones,” he emphasised .
He urged all party faithful to remain hopeful, calm, peaceful, and steadfast in prayers and commitment as they await the confirmed date for the supplementary election in Warri South, to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
