Delta Plans Digital Economy

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Ministry of Science and Technology has said it will continue to be at the forefront of ensuring the Asaba Technology Incubation Centre comes into operation in the shortest possible time to enable the state benefit from the investment.

This was disclosed in Asaba by the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Chief Jennifer Adasen when she paid an unscheduled visit to the site in Asaba.

Adasen remarked that the incubation centre was part of efforts by the state government to expand the frontiers of science and technology development, as well as create a technology-driven economy in the state.

She revealed that on completion, the centre, which is part of the three centres planned for each of the three senatorial districts of the state, would bridge the gap between scientific research and the practicals to creation of tangible products for improved living standards and help grow a digital economy.

While urging the contractor to strictly abide by the project specifications and ensure its speedy completion, the commissioner assured Deltans that the state government would soon take delivery of the project and put it to immediate use.
