ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Police Command has assured residents of a peaceful and secure Eid-El-Fitr celebration as it deploys personnel across the state to maintain law and order during the festivities.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, extended his warmest felicitations to the Muslim faithful in Delta State and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to combating crime and ensuring public safety throughout the celebration.
To this end, police officers have been strategically deployed to all Muslim worship centers, marketplaces, highways, and other critical locations to strengthen security and prevent any potential threats. The CP urged residents to remain security-conscious and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to enhance the effectiveness of security measures.
“Members of the public are advised to be vigilant and take appropriate measures to protect themselves and their property, not only at home but also in public places such as markets, worship centers, shopping malls, and major roads,” CP Olufemi stated.
He reiterated the command’s resolve to maintain peace and order, assuring all citizens of a hitch-free celebration. On behalf of the officers and men of the Delta State Police Command, the CP wished all Muslim faithful a happy and peaceful Eid-El-Fitr.
