Delta Polytechnic Welcomes New Rector

OTEFE-OGHARA/Nigeria: The governing council and staff of the Delta State Polytechnic at Otefe Oghara has sent forth their former rector, Professor Emmanuel Ogujor, after a successful tenure as they received a new rector, Professor Emmanuel Biri.
The new rector said his administration would focus on students and staff welfare adding that students and lecturers were very important in the running of the school.
While appreciating God and the state governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his appointment, he promised to link the institution with the international world, thereby exposing both staff and students of the polytechnic to what was trending in the world.
He urged the students to be of good morals by obeying the law, rules and regulations that governed the institution.
While praying for God’s preservation and control throughout his stay in the polytechnic, the new rector said his administration would establish a cordial relationship with the host community.
The outgoing rector, Professor Ogujor in his speech thanked God for the journey so far and for a successful tenure, just as he thanked the state governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa for giving him the opportunity to serve, even without meeting him physically before he was given the appointment.
He also thanked the former governor of the state, Chief James Ibori; the Ovie of Oghara Kingdom, the Otefe people, the staff and the governing council of the polytechnic and all who had contributed in ensuring his successful tenure.
While congratulating the incoming rector, Ogujor urged him to improve on all he had done and encouraged him to work on areas that needed to be improved upon in the development of the institution.
The chairman of the governing council, who appreciated all that worked with Ogujor in making his tenure a great one, said the sentforth was organised to celebrate a man who had done well and to unveil a new man to take over.
The high point of the event was the presentation of gift items to the outgoing rector and his deputy by the governing council and other associations/ organisations, including individuals who found the rector worthy of appreciating.
Present at the event to celebrate the rector were the former governor of delta state, Chief James Ibori, reprented by Chief Ducan Edgwere; Ethiope West Local Government Chairman, Hon. Nelson Owoso; the CMD of the Delta State Teaching Hospital, Oghara, Professor Onome Ogueh, chiefs from the area and security personnel, among others.
