Delta Secondary School Commissioner Urges Teachers To Impact On Students, As Schools Resumes

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu, has urged teachers in the public and private secondary schools in the state to redouble their commitments towards impacting positively on students.

Mrs. Ezewu made the call while monitoring the resumption of schools in different parts of the state, especially in the Dept’s Central and South Senatorial districts of the state.

The commissioner expressed satisfaction with the level of enthusiasm of the students to commence academic activities.

Mrs. Ezewu, however, advised the students to embrace the reading culture and shun any act that could destroy their future, stressing that the students would be evaluated in a resumption test exercise.

She reiterated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s desire to transform the education system, adding that so much had been invested in the sector by the state government, just as she emphasised the strong need for students to desist from destroying school facilities while stakeholders in the communities where schools existed should guide against such destructions.

Schools visited by the commissioner included Osubi Secondary School, Osubi; Ugbokodo Secondary School and Esezi  Secondary School, Uwuoto,  all in Okpe Local Government Area of the state, among others.
