Rear view of the on going New Secretariat Complex project

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State government baring any last minute change will move all Ministries and Departments to the multi billion naira state secretariat, which was inaugurated by this administration.
The State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, stated this during his schedule visit to the site of the secretariat, as he expressed joy with the tempo of work at the multi-billion naira secretariat complex.
The governor told newsmen shortly after going round the edifice today, Friday, March 22, 2019, that the contractor was not only executing the job to specifications but, was working to beat the deadline for the delivery of the project.
According to him, “from what we can see here, in the next few months, all MDAs will be in one location; it may surprise you to know that due to lack of adequate accommodation in our secretariats, our MDAs are in different locations in rented apartments to the extent that some are very difficult to locate.”
“I am happy that soon, there will be more efficiency in service-delivery as all the MDAs will be in one location which will enhance functionality, discipline and shared service to ensure ease in their operation, reduce cost of managing government business because, they will have one source of power, internet services, among others,” the governor who was accompanied by his aides said.
He continued, “With all the civil servants working in one location, in a conducive environment where there will be banking halls, crèche, among other facilities, there will be discipline and the best results will be achieved for our people, the people of Delta State.”
At the General Hospital, Asaba, Governor Okowa stated that the hospital when fully operational will be exemplary in the country, disclosing that skeletal services were being offered in the hospital ahead of its full completion before the end of the year.
He expressed joy at the state-of-the-art medical facilities that have been installed in the hospital, adding that some of the operations of the hospitals would be run by the private sector.
“Though, it is a hospital, you can see that we have created a very warm environment, a friendly environment which will in a great way, assist in the speedy recovery of the patients; the facilities that we have seen are very modern and when fully operational, we will be proud to say we have a hospital that is exemplary in our state,” he stated.
Governor Okowa also, inspected the new Ogbogonogo market under construction and the NCC Institution/ State Owner-Occupiers Housing Estate/CBN Housing Estate Road, Ugbolu, Oshimili North local government area of Delta State.
