ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Investments Development Agency (DIDA) said the state is at the forefront of promoting massive industrialization in the State.
The Chairman of DIDA, Mr Afam Obiago made this statement when he went in company of the Director General of DIDA, Chief Lucky Oghene Omoru and top Management of the Agency on an inspection of Gold & Millar Solutions Gypsum Powder Manufacturing Plant, Asaba.
Mr Obiago said that DIDA had created the enabling environment in areas of security and other incentives it was set up to provide thereby allowing for the influx of investors.
According to him “At a point we had to intervene when issues of land dispute came up, to resolve it; by the time their technical partners come in to assemble the equipment, the multiplier effects to the state in the areas of job creation and technology transfer will further assist to boost His Excellency Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa’s SMART Agenda policy.”
He stated that the whole idea of the inspection was for DIDA to look at further areas to make the projects come to fruition and eventually commissioned by the Governor, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
In his contributions, the Director General of DIDA, Chief Lucky Oghene Omoru, advised that the company should ensure the sustainability of the investment by securing long term supply of gypsum and cost effective reliable power supply.
Earlier, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Gold & Millar Solutions Gypsum Powder Manufacturing Plant, Mr Ajoritsedere Imilar, noted that the plant which is a 30,000 metric tons production line, when operational, would be the first of its kind in West Africa thus placing Delta State in Africa’s industrialization map.
He said that Delta State was strategically located as gateway to the East, South South, West and North, adding that movement and market for their product was assured.
“All the equipment required for production are already on ground for installation, he said, adding “We intend to start with production of Gypsum Powder and gradually expand into production of Gypsum Board.”
Mr Imilar called on the Delta State Government to assist in actualizing their vision of becoming the leading manufacturer and supplier of gypsum (pop) powder in West Africa.
