Delta Speaker Celebrates 33 Years of Progress in Delta State

ASABA/Nigeria: Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has hailed the state’s significant progress over the past 33 years since its creation on August 27, 1991.

Reflecting on the 33rd anniversary, Rt. Hon. Guwor expressed pride in the state’s journey as a distinct entity, describing it as fulfilling and rewarding.

In a heartfelt message conveyed through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, Guwor commended the resilience and determination of the people of Delta State, which he said have made the state a beacon of hope and opportunity.

Rt. Hon. Guwor, who represents Warri South West in the Assembly and serves as the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, paid tribute to the visionaries who fought for the state’s creation and the leaders who have guided it since.

“Today, we celebrate a significant milestone in our state’s history—the 33rd anniversary of Delta State. On this day, August 27, 1991, our state was born, and we began our journey as a distinct entity,” Guwor stated.

He congratulated Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori for presiding over this landmark anniversary, acknowledging the massive support from Deltans that has brought the state to where it is today.

Reflecting on the progress and challenges faced by the state, Guwor noted that Delta has grown from a fledgling state to a thriving hub of commerce, industry, and culture. He reaffirmed his commitment, along with the State Legislature, to building a brighter future for Delta State, promising continued efforts to enact laws that address the people’s needs, promote economic growth, and uphold justice and equality.

As Deltans celebrate the 33rd anniversary, the Speaker extended his best wishes to the people and prayed for God’s blessings and guidance towards a prosperous future.
