Delta Speaker Commends Workers on May Day, Urges Continued Support for State’s Progress

ASABA/Nigeria: Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, extended his heartfelt felicitations to Organized Labour in Nigeria as they marked the 2024 Workers’ Day Celebration.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker specifically lauded the Workers in Delta State on this year’s May 1st annual event themed “People First”.

Being the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of States Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, Rt Hon Guwor expressed gratitude towards Delta State Workers for their unwavering commitment and resilience in propelling the state’s progress.

He emphasized the pivotal role played by Labour Unions and their Members as indispensable partners in fostering good governance and steering the state’s development agenda.

Encouraging Workers to maintain their focus, the Speaker urged them to continue supporting the present administration led by Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori. He underscored the administration’s determination to bolster all sectors of the state’s economy, with a particular emphasis on initiatives promoting the welfare and wellbeing of workers.

Assuring continued legislative efforts aimed at fostering peace and progress in the state, Rt Hon Guwor stressed, “I commend Delta Workers for their unwavering dedication to the State’s progress and prosperity. I cannot but appreciate them for their commitment and steadfastness to government’s drive for a greater state.”

He urged Workers to sustain their productive spirits for the growth of the state, stating, “As we celebrate with the Workers today, I seek from them continued genuine support to the state government. I enjoined them to keep on with the productive spirits for the growth of the state.”
