ASABA/Nigeria: The Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu, has commended the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Community Newspapers, Comr. Prince Joseph Orhomonokpaye.
Dr. Emu, acknowledging Orhomonokpaye’s dedication and merit in actions and character, which earned him the appointment given by His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State.
The SSG stated this recently in a meeting, which included Media Executives and publishers of Community Newspapers and Magazines in the State, he emphasized the pivotal role of grassroots newspapers in disseminating information. He urged unity among publishers, stressing the importance of shunning unproductive attributes like envy and back-biting to collectively work towards positive impact.
The SSG provided insightful hints to enhance publications, emphasizing the utilization of new technology and social media for greater readership and patronage. He urged publishers to uphold standards and collaborate for robust and regular publications, highlighting the potential for tangible financial gains in community news reporting.
Commending SSA Orhomonokpaye for his proactive approach in promoting the Governor’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, Dr. Emu described him as a radical goal-getter. He expressed confidence in Orhomonokpaye’s ability to justify the confidence reposed in him through his appointment, urging the Community Newspapers constituency to work closely with him to benefit from the government’s initiatives.
In response, Prince Orhomonokpaye affirmed the commitment of community newspapers in partnering with the government and ensuring the masses, especially those in rural areas, are well-informed about the State Government’s activities.
