Delta SSG Held Hostage by Community Protesting Against Herdsmen Attack

agasAboh: Reports reaching Ndokwa Reporters have it that the Secretary to the State Government of Delta, Mr. Festus Ovie Agas, is currently being held hostage by some protesting youths from Osissa community in the Ndokwa-East Local Government Area of the state.

The aggrieved youths are protesting against the attacks and killing of three members of the community by Fulani herdsmen.

Agas convoy was intercepted by the protesters numbering over one thousand. The SSG was traveling to Asaba after spending the weekend with his family in Ughelli at about 6:55am along the Ughelli-Asaba express.

In a telephone interview with an agent of the Anioma Security Network in Osissa, said the protest started as early as 6am, thus preventing users of the busy Ughelli-Asaba road from reaching their destination.

According to the security agent, the road was later cleared after there was agreement from the SSG to call for a meeting to discuss the menace this week.

It can be recalled the people of Osissa had being victims of Herdsmen attack.
