Delta state 2015-While the parties cannot neglect Ndokwa nation.

The 2015 General Election will be few days from now, during the preparation for the primaries, there was clamor by the people of Ndokwa to produce the next governor of the Delta State, this we all know the outcome of the primaries from all the major political parties. The primaries had come and gone but the political players in all the major parties from informationhad shared the various public offices. The case of th Peoples Democratic Party. PDP, where majority of the Ndokwa people seems to pitch their tents, indicates that there is no palatable office that is shared to them, as the office of the Deputy Governor had already been given to an Ijaw man, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, will be for the people of Delta Central, the Secretary to the State Governor is already zoned to the Itsekiri,’s though the Governor elect can decide on who becomes his SSG, that is the picture in the party for now. Though, the most senior legislature from Ndokwa nation, in the State House of Assembly may clinch the office of the Deputy Speaker if re-elected, the question may be asked, what is the office of the Deputy speaker all about.
The same scenario, had played out in All Progressive Congress, APC, initially an Ndokwa man was picked by the APC candidate as his running-mate, but was later dropped and replaced by former President-General of Isoko Development Union, IDU, do to some political manoeuvring. The sharing of the offices by the APC and Labour Party if elected is not yet defined but again, the Labour Party also has someone from Delta South as running mate. The situation now is if the Ndokwa people did not come together, like other ethnic groups in the state to stamp their demands from all the candidates, the Ndokwa nation will be at the losing end.
However, one thing must be clear to all the major political parties in the state, the people of Ndokwa are calm, and non aggressive people, they produce a high percentage of the revenue that oil the state machinery, so therefore they have a salient determining factor on how the state should move positively or otherwise. the economic base of the Ndokwa nation and the recent political and economic awaking of the people of the area should be enough warning to whichever party that wins the February 2015 governorship seat, that Ndokwa people need to be carried along, by any group and the required recognition accorded them. Let no political gainers deceive whoever wins that the people of Ndokwa cannot bite. If they want to know the feelings of the people, they should go and feel the pulse of the people in the communities. Ndokwa had changed, and she may bite if neglected.
