Delta State Assembly Advocates Sector Stability and Cleaner Environment for Sustained Leadership

ASABA/Nigeria: In a bid to uphold its pivotal role in the pivotal sectors of Environment, Oil, and Gas, the Delta State House of Assembly has underscored the imperative for stability and progress. Hon Festus Utuama, Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Environment, Oil, and Gas, echoed this sentiment in dedicated sessions with the ministries and supervised parastatals.

Representing Ughelli South in the House, Hon Utuama emphasized the crucial role these ministries play in ensuring stability among indigenous and multinational entities operating within Delta State. Recognizing oil as the linchpin of the national economy, he reaffirmed Delta’s historical precedence in driving advancements within the sector.

Highlighting the need for unity and cooperation among stakeholders, the lawmaker urged the Ministry of Environment to intensify efforts towards making Delta the cleanest state in Nigeria. Utuama expressed confidence in the adequacy of provisions earmarked in the 2024 budget for these agencies, aligning with the state government’s MORE (Making Over and Reorienting the Environment) agenda.

Assuring unwavering support from his committee, Utuama pledged their commitment to the success of these endeavors. The collaboration received an endorsement from Commissioners and Heads of various MDAs, who sought greater synergy with the committee to amplify their performance.
