ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, has emphasized the critical need for individuals from the Ndokwa/Ukwuani ethnic nationality to remain committed to the advancement and growth of their region. This clarion call came during a courtesy visit by the Ndokwa Study Group, a dedicated organization with a vision for the socio-economic development of Ndokwa/Ukwuani land.
Dr. Ashibogwu stressed the significance of collaborative initiatives aimed at driving infrastructural development within the Ndokwa/Ukwuani region. He urged political officeholders and successful individuals hailing from the area, both in the spheres of business and academia, to leverage their influential positions to foster the progress of Ndokwa/Ukwuani land.
Expressing his support for the group’s mission, Dr. Ashibogwu commended their vision to organize memorial lectures in honor of the late Dr. Obadoni, who played a pivotal role in championing the growth and development of Ndokwa/Ukwuani land.
Dr. Noris Ovili, the President of the Ndokwa Study Group, spoke passionately about the need for socio-economic development in Ndokwa land and implored all sons and daughters of the region who hold positions of power to prioritize the interests of their people by attracting government initiatives and support to the area. The group sought the Commissioner’s support for their upcoming second memorial lecture, scheduled for November 18, 2023, as a tribute to their founding President, the late Dr. Patrick Obadoni.
Another member of the Ndokwa Study Group, Mr. Dennis Medi, praised the late Dr. Obadoni as a deeply patriotic individual from Ndokwa/Ukwuani, noting his unwavering commitment to the development of his people, particularly during the military administration in the state. To ensure that his legacy lives on, the group has chosen to hold annual memorial lectures in his honor, recognizing his invaluable contributions to the advancement of Ndokwa/Ukwuani nation.
Medi urged the Ndokwa people to emulate the dedication displayed by the late Dr. Obadoni in their efforts to uplift their community. Accompanying the President on the visit were other members of the group, including Mr. I. I Ishie and Mr. Cyril Eboagwu, among others.
This meeting serves as a significant step forward in the collective pursuit of progress and development for Ndokwa/Ukwuani land.
