Delta State Commissioner for Works, Highways, and Urban Roads, Assures Timely Completion of Okpanam-Ibusa Road Project by May 2024

OKPANAM/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Works, Highways, and Urban Roads, Comrade Reuben Izeze, has applauds Lebtech Construction Limited for project progress and quality workmanship,  given assurance that the Okpanam-Ibusa Road project in Oshimili North Local Government Area will be completed and delivered by May 2024.

The project, spanning 5.3 kilometers, was awarded on September 29, 2022, during the previous administration. It includes two side concrete drains measuring 10.6 kilometers, a single cell culvert, a double cell culvert, and a triple cell culvert.

Speaking to the press, Commissioner Izeze highlighted the significant progress made since his last visit with His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori. He emphasized the contractor’s notable advancements, stating, “Between then and now, the contractor has achieved an appreciable amount of work. With the current pace, I believe that, all things being equal, we will be able to deliver this project to the government by the second week of May 2024.”

Acknowledging the efficiency of Lebtech Construction Limited’s work schedule, Commissioner Izeze noted the meticulous planning evident on the construction sites. He expressed confidence that, with proper financing, the project would be completed and delivered in May, as promised.

Commending the cooperation between the contractor and the community, Commissioner Izeze noted the peaceful environment and the understanding that allows able-bodied young men to earn a living legitimately during the project. He credited this approach to Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to uplifting Deltans above the extreme poverty line.

Expressing gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for the project’s well-secured funding, Commissioner Izeze also commended the engineers of the Ministry, led by Engineer Solomon Akpotowho, the Director of Urban Roads. He emphasized the application of high-level engineering principles in ensuring the project’s success.
