ASABA/Nigeria: The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, has emphasised the importance of organizations engaging in development projects for the betterment of society.
The Deputy Governor expressed his views during a visit by members of the International Association of Lions Club, District 404 A4, Asaba Phase II Lions Club, who came to extend their congratulations.
Having personally benefited from his association with the Lions Club, Onyeme highlighted the club’s role as a grooming ground for individuals. He credited the organization for positively shaping his life and contributing to the ease of his political career.
Recognizing the potential for collective action, Onyeme called on both organizations and individuals to actively participate in development projects, with the aim of leaving society better than they found it.
During the visit, Lion Emeka Egwele, President of the Club, expressed delight in congratulating the Deputy Governor on his successful assumption of office. In his remarks, Egwele appealed to the State Government not to waver in its support of humanitarian organizations, highlighting their essential role in addressing societal needs.
Further adding to the chorus of praise, Sir Okey Ofili, a former Head of Service in the State, commended the Deputy Governor, referring to him as a great Lion and an asset to the state. Ofili lauded Onyeme’s exceptional capabilities and demonstrated track record in both the private and public sectors. Acknowledging his significant contributions, particularly in championing the campaign against open defecation, Ofili affirmed that Onyeme would continue to positively impact the lives of Deltans.
As Delta State’s Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme’s call for increased involvement in development projects reflects his commitment to improving society through collaborative efforts.
