Delta State Flood Tackling Committee Visits Uvwie Local Government Area

EFFURUN/Nigeria: The 11-man committee on flood set up by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to tackle the menace of flooding in Warri South and Uvwie Local Government areas paid a working visit to the Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Honourable Tega Onoyake at the Local Government Council on Monday July 16th, 2018.

Speaking during the occasion, the Chairman of the Committee Hon James Augoye explained that the committee was set up by governor Okowa to tackle the menace of flooding in Warri South and Uvwie local government areas.

He also disclosed that the committee was set up owing to complaints from residents of the area.

While assuring that the committee will carry out its work effectively, the Honourable Commissioner for Works Delta State explained further that the visit was to seek assistance of security from the council chairman for the committee to carry out its works effectively in the area.

Responding, the Uvwie Local Government Council boss thanked the committee for the visit just as he expressed appreciation to governor Okowa over his concern on flooding in both local government areas.

He then promised that the council will give the maximum assistance on security to the committee.
