ASABA/Nigeria: In a bid to address the persistent challenges confronting its state-owned broadcasting stations, the Delta State Government has initiated the formation of a dedicated committee. The primary objective is to devise sustainable solutions aimed at enhancing their capacity to effectively disseminate information, promote governmental achievements, and fulfill their fundamental roles of informing, educating, and entertaining the populace.
Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, the state’s Commissioner for Information, unveiled this development on Wednesday during a meeting with the Chairman and members of the Board of Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, held at his office in Asaba.
Dr. Osuoza underscored the comprehensive nature of the committee’s mandate, emphasizing its task to meticulously assess the challenges confronting both Delta Broadcasting Service in Asaba and Warri. He stressed the necessity of devising pragmatic strategies to elevate their prominence within the state’s information dissemination framework and to foster healthy competition with other broadcasting entities.
Encouraging collaborative efforts, Dr. Osuoza urged board members to rally behind their chairman, while also emphasizing the importance of resourcefulness, diligence, and the reinstatement of discipline within the organization.
In an earlier address, Chief Moses Odibo, Chairman of the Board of Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, congratulated Dr. Osuoza on his appointment. He highlighted Osuoza’s previous tenure as Chairman of the Board of DBS, Warri, expressing confidence in his ability to grasp the challenges and effectively tackle them in his current role as Commissioner for Information.
