ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Government has called on eligible male and female young graduates in the state to apply for the Nigerian Army Direct Short Service recruitment, known as SSC/DSSC Combatant Course 48/2025. This appeal was made in a statement released on Friday by Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, the Chief Executive Officer of Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau.
Dr. Oghenesivbe highlighted that the application process is currently ongoing and will close on September 15, 2024. He urged interested applicants to visit the Nigerian Army recruitment website at www.recruitment.army.mil.ng to complete the free online application and upload the necessary documents, including passport photographs.
According to Dr. Oghenesivbe, applicants must meet specific criteria, including being between the ages of 23 and 27 by January 2025, holding at least a second-class lower division degree in Arts, Sciences, or Humanities from an accredited institution, and being physically, mentally, and medically fit according to Nigerian Army standards. He emphasized that applicants must be Nigerian citizens as defined by the Constitution and have no criminal record or conviction by a court of competent jurisdiction.
The recruitment is open to both civilian and serving military personnel. Upon completion of training and commissioning, the officers will serve in the Artillery, Engineering, Signals, and Intelligence Corps of the Nigerian Army. Dr. Oghenesivbe also noted that applicants must be recommended by at least two recognized referees, such as a Local Government Council Chairman/Secretary or an Armed Forces officer not below the rank of Lieutenant Colonel or equivalent.
Dr. Oghenesivbe pointed out that this recruitment drive aligns with the Job and Wealth Creation programs of Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as outlined in his MORE agenda. The state government is actively encouraging all eligible graduates in Delta State to take advantage of this opportunity.
