ASABA/NIGERIA: The Delta State Government, under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, is leaving no stone unturned to illuminate the state in alignment with the MORE Agenda, according to the Commissioner for Energy, Mr. Jerry Ehiwaror.
Speaking during an interview with journalists following the Ministry’s 2024 budget presentation and defense at the Prof. Chieke Edozien Secretariat in Asaba, Mr. Ehiwaror, an engineer, highlighted the state’s commitment to achieving energy independence. He pointed to the recently enacted Power Act as a significant step toward achieving this goal, allowing the state to manage its power generation effectively.
Ehiwaror emphasized that this newfound independence would enable Delta State to harness its abundant renewable energy resources more effectively. He further revealed plans to replicate power generation initiatives, such as the Asaba Independent Power Plant, in various parts of the state.
The commissioner also assured that the Ministry of Energy was working diligently to complete ongoing projects and initiate new ones in the state. He extended an invitation to investors to come to Delta and invest in power generation, transmission, and distribution.
