ASABA/Nigeria: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has applauded the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) for its significant role in fostering Nigeria’s democracy through advocacy and public policy analysis. The Governor made these remarks during a courtesy visit by the Delta State Chapter of IPAC, led by its Chairman, Comrade Emeka Bidokwu, at the Government House in Asaba.
Governor Oborevwori emphasized the critical role that IPAC, as the umbrella body of all registered political parties in Nigeria, plays in strengthening democracy through its advocacy efforts and analysis of public policies. He expressed his sincere appreciation for IPAC’s selfless commitment to building a better Nigeria, stating that the organization’s voice has always been influential on issues of national importance, contributing to peace and stability in the country.
Speaking specifically about the Delta State chapter of IPAC, Governor Oborevwori commended their approach, characterized by maturity, objectivity, fairness, and transparency in their public statements and actions regarding politics and governance in the state.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to advancing Delta State with the M.O.R.E agenda, which stands for Meaningful Development, Opportunities for all, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security. He assured the public that his government has already taken steps to address crucial issues, such as pension concerns for local government workers and promotion arrears for state workers.
Chairman Emeka Bidokwu conveyed the IPAC State Chapter’s supports to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration among all candidates, their supporters, and different political parties after elections for the overall growth and development of the State. He also extended congratulations to the Governor for his electoral victory, successful inauguration, and steps taken to achieve the M.O.R.E agenda.
Governor Oborevwori concluded by reiterating his commitment to a transparent and inclusive government that works together with all Deltans to deliver the dividends of democracy and move the state forward.
