ASABA/Nigeria: In a solemn gesture of empathy and solidarity, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to his Anambra counterpart, Professor Charles Soludo, on the sorrowful demise of his father, Pa Simeon Nwankwo Soludo, who peacefully passed away in the early hours of Monday, November 6, 2023, at the remarkable age of 92. Surviving him are seven sons, eight devoted daughters-in-law, 22 cherished grandchildren, and six adored great-grandchildren.
Pa Soludo’s passing, a poignant loss that resonates not only across the annals of Anambra State and the South East region but echoes throughout the entire nation, is mourned deeply by the Delta State Governor.
Governor Oborevwori, in a statement released through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba on Wednesday, extended his heartfelt condolences to the Soludo family and the grieving populace of Anambra. He described Pa Soludo’s life as one characterized by profound positive influence and called upon the family to seek solace in the enduring legacy their late father leaves behind.
The Governor paid a glowing tribute to Pa. Soludo, acknowledging him as an exemplar of fatherhood, while urging the Soludo family to find comfort in the monumental achievements of their offspring, particularly the ascent of Professor Charles Soludo from his role as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to his election as the esteemed Governor of Anambra State.
Governor Oborevwori, in his condolence message, conveyed his sentiments, stating, “We received the news of the demise of your beloved father with sadness, but we are consoled by the fact that he lived a life of dedicated service to humanity.”
“We share in your sorrow and pains at this period, and we pray that God will grant you the courage to bear the loss, as we pray for the repose of the soul of your departed father. On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Delta, I mourn with my brother Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, (CFR), on the unfortunate demise of his beloved father, Pa Simeon Nwankwo Soludo. It is my prayer that God will comfort Governor Soludo, his entire family, the government, and the people of Anambra State and grant them the fortitude to bear the grievous loss.”
