Delta State Governor Extends Congratulations to Citizens on 32nd State Anniversary

ASABA/Nigeria:  In a heartfelt message marking the 32nd anniversary of Delta State’s establishment, the state’s Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed his felicitations to the people of Delta State.

The congratulatory address, conveyed through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, underlines the Governor’s gratitude for the steadfastness and support shown by Deltans throughout the journey of the state over the past three decades.

The Governor emphasized the collective effort of the populace, citing their patience, cooperation, and unwavering support across successive administrations as key factors driving the state’s progress. Reassuring citizens, Governor Oborevwori affirmed his commitment to building upon the advancements made by his predecessors, with the aim of propelling Delta State even further forward.

In a celebratory tone, Governor Oborevwori remarked, “Our beloved State has continued to move on the trajectory of growth in spite of challenges confronting us as a people. As an administration, we appreciate all Deltans for their patience, support, and peaceful co-existence which has continued to provide an enabling environment for infrastructural and human capital development.”

Acknowledging the relatively short time his administration has been in office, the Governor underscored the recent formation of the State Executive Council, signaling the commencement of focused governance activities. He urged citizens to uphold peaceful co-existence, highlighting that progress is best achieved in an atmosphere devoid of strife and unrest.

Governor Oborevwori affirmed his administration’s commitment to the “M.O.R.E Agenda,” a strategy aimed at fostering meaningful development, inclusive opportunities, pragmatic reforms, and enhanced peace and security for all residents of Delta State. The Governor vowed to prioritize both urban and rural areas, seeking to address the rural-urban migration trend and promote balanced development across the state.

Reflecting on the electoral mandate bestowed upon him, Governor Oborevwori expressed gratitude for the confidence Delta’s citizens placed in him, promising resolute dedication to realizing the goals outlined in the “M.O.R.E Agenda.” He emphasized the collaborative nature of progress, affirming, “we have your clear mandate to deliver on our M.O.R.E Agenda and I assure you that with your support and cooperation as always, we will surely do more.”

Governor Oborevwori addressed the inheritance of ongoing infrastructure projects, noting over 400 road projects and bridges from the previous administration. He assured citizens of his administration’s commitment to completing these projects while also initiating new ones, fostering comprehensive growth and development.

Concluding his message, Governor Oborevwori highlighted Delta State’s significant anniversary within the context of its broader journey toward development. He underscored the principles of equity, fair play, and friendship as foundational to the state’s peaceful and progressive environment.
