ASABA/Nigeria: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has received high praise from The Integrity Group, a political support organization within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for his notable achievements in his first year in office.
the group’s convener, commended the Governor’s MORE agenda, which stands for; Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security—highlighting significant strides made under his leadership at the press conference at Fobbs Hotels Asaba, Dr. Oke Idawene.
“The Integrity Group is dedicated to promoting the MORE agenda and the You Matter Charity Foundation, led by Governor Oborevwori and his wife Tobore,” Dr. Idawene stated.
He emphasized the administration’s accomplishments in education, noting the recruitment of over 2,500 teaching and non-teaching staff across 22 local government areas.

“This initiative has significantly enhanced educational quality and created employment opportunities for young graduates,” he said.
Dr. Idawene also highlighted the Governor’s commitment to financial obligations, including the payment of N40 billion to settle outstanding pensions for retired primary school teachers and local government employees, as well as N5.522 billion for civil servant promotion arrears. Additionally, over N674 million in bursaries were disbursed to approximately 30,000 Delta State students in higher education for the 2022/2023 academic session, and civil servants received a palliative payment of N10,000 each for three months.
In terms of infrastructure, the group stated that the administration has embarked on major projects, including three flyovers, cloverleaf, and pedestrian bridges valued at N78 billion in Effurun and Warri. Key road projects like the Ohorhe-Adagbrasa-Ugolo-Okuodiete Road in Okpe LGA and the Nsukwa-Umute-Adonte Road in Aniocha South LGA are also underway.
“These projects are pivotal in boosting connectivity and economic activities across the state,” Dr. Idawene remarked.
The Governor’s efforts in enhancing peace and security were also acknowledged. “The Governor has fostered a strong synergy with the police, enhancing community trust and security,”.
The group pointed out that development always comes with development challenges like insecurity, but the administration has established various platforms for community engagement, promoting peace throughout Delta State.
Concluding his address, Dr. Idawene congratulated Governor Oborevwori, the state legislature, and the judiciary for their harmonious cooperation.
“This synergy has been instrumental in achieving the Governor’s MORE agenda,” he noted.
