Delta State Governor Unveils Ambitious Project Lineup for First 100 Days in Office

ASABA/Nigeria: The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has unveiled a comprehensive array of projects scheduled for inauguration within his first 100 days in office. The governor made this announcement during a recent inspection of several ongoing projects across the state capital, including Dennis Osadebay University and various other strategic locations.

The projects under scrutiny during the inspection encompassed a wide range of essential infrastructure. Notable among them were the Administrative building, Faculty of Agriculture building, lecture theatres, Faculty of Environment, and the Vice Chancellor’s lodge at Dennis Osadebay University. The Governor expressed his satisfaction with the quality of work and assured that he would not inaugurate any project that did not meet the specified standards.

Governor Oborevwori, who has championed the “M.O.R.E” (Making Our Resources Effective) agenda, explained the meticulous process behind the project selection. He stated, “In line with my M.O.R.E agenda, I summoned all the Permanent Secretaries to list out projects that we know we can complete urgently, and this Dennis Osadebay University is one of them. I must tell you that the contractor is doing a very good job, and I commend him for that. I know that in the next one week, we will come here for commissioning.”

Additionally, the Governor provided updates on the State High Court Complex, where he noted that corrections he had previously suggested had been implemented. He said, “I am actually satisfied with the work done so far because the corrections we suggested, such as the work panel and the positioning of the toilets, have all been corrected. Some amendments to the sitting capacity are also in progress, and the contractor has assured us that it will be completed and ready for commissioning in 10 days.”

Governor Oborevwori emphasized his commitment to timely project delivery, stating, “Some of these ongoing projects and the new ones initiated will be inaugurated very soon; all within my 100 days in office. I promised Deltans that I am going to do M.O.R.E, and I am very sure that they will get more.”

The Governor lauded the progress made on the 16km internal roads and drainages around the Madonna Road area, praising the contractor for adhering to the specified standards. He asserted, “I won’t inaugurate any work that is not up to specification.”

Regarding the Ughelli-Asaba dualization project, Governor Oborevwori expressed his hopes for its timely completion, despite potential challenges such as flooding. He also revealed plans to submit a supplementary budget of N167 billion to the State Assembly to address critical areas of need.

Governor Oborevwori concluded, “I have already told Deltans that there will be meaningful development, and as you can see, we just had our maiden Exco yesterday, where a lot of approvals were granted. We also approved a supplementary budget to be able to cater for some of the areas that we know are not properly funded, and I can tell you that I have a good team, and I am sure that Deltans will get more from my administration.”

With these ambitious projects lined up for inauguration within the first 100 days, Governor Oborevwori’s administration appears poised to make substantial strides in delivering on its promises to the people of Delta State.
