ASABA/Nigeria: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has called upon Muslims across Nigeria to offer prayers for the country’s peace, unity, and growth as they celebrate Eid-El-Maulud, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori emphasized the significance of following the exemplary leadership and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad to foster peaceful co-existence among Nigerians.
Governor Oborevwori went further to encourage Muslims and individuals from all religious backgrounds to engage in regular prayers, aimed at ushering in the necessary changes that would propel Nigeria toward becoming a better nation.
He stressed the importance of unity in a nation characterized by diversity and urged all Nigerians to eschew divisive tendencies, emphasizing that the commemoration of the Holy Prophet’s birth serves as a reminder of this vital national unity.
“On behalf of my family, the Government, and the people of Delta State, I extend our warmest wishes to Muslims celebrating Eid-el-Maulud in Delta, Nigeria, and around the world. I congratulate all Muslim faithful on this special day,” Governor Oborevwori remarked.
He added, “My goal and prayer for you all as you celebrate is that you would live up to the spiritual principles taught by the Holy Prophet, which include piety, love, justice, fairness, equity, peaceful coexistence, tolerance, honesty, and a commitment to our duties.”
