Delta State Governor’s Senior Special Assistant Announces Burial Program of Mother

ASABA/Nigeria: Fidelis Egugbo, Senior Special Assistant, Media, to the Governor of Delta State, has in a statement announced the burial programme of his late mother, Deaconess Mary Egugbo (nee Anieh). Deaconess Egugbo passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, a few weeks after celebrating her 70th birthday.

Comrade Egugbo, who personally signed and issued the statement in Asaba on Monday, October 23, 2023 revealed that the family has resolved to commence his mother’s burial rites on Friday, December 29, 2023, starting with a Service of Songs at her residence, located at No 1, Sir Fidelis Egugbo’s Street, Ulapia, Ugiliamai/Ossissa Road, Ugiliamai, Onicha-Ukwuani, Ndokwa West local government area of Delta State.

The statement further outlined the schedule of events, including the transfer of Deaconess Mary Egugbo’s body from St. Luke’s Mortuary, Kwale, to Ugiliamai, Onicha-Ukwuani on Saturday, December 30, 2023. The Funeral Service will take place at 10 am, followed by the internment.

After the internment, entertainment for guests will begin at No 1, Sir Fidelis Egugbo’s Street, with the outing service scheduled for 8 am on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at the Grace of God Mission International in Ugiliamai, Onicha-Ukwuani.

Comrade Egugbo, who also serves as the Secretary of the Maris Trust Council (MTC) and is known for organizing the Maris Annual Public Service Lecture series, expressed his gratitude on behalf of his siblings for the support and love they have received from friends, associates, and well-wishers since the passing of their beloved mother, Deaconess Mary Egugbo (nee Anieh).

Egugbo conveyed his family’s appreciation for the outpouring of love and kindness during this difficult time, highlighting the strength they draw from the belief that it was the will of God Almighty. He expressed his thanks to those who have visited, made phone calls, and sent messages to offer their condolences.

Egugbo’s statement also included a heartfelt plea to their elders, friends, associates, and well-wishers to join them in giving his late mother a glorious farewell. He requested their prayers and support as they prepare to celebrate her life, concluding with a final expression of gratitude for the overwhelming support.

Deaconess Mary Egugbo is survived by two sons, Fidelis and Anslem, two daughters, Pastor (Mrs) Kate Aduhor and Mrs Chineye Otuya; two sons-in-law, Pastor Harrison Aduhor and Mr Chukwuemeke Benson Otunuya, two daughters-in-law, Dr Rita Uzoma Egugbo, ACA, and Mrs Clementina Egugbo, as well as fifteen grandchildren: Saint Aduhor, Favour Aduhor, Gift Aduhor, Onyekachukwu Fidelis Egugbo, Ifeakachukwu Joan Egugbo, Joshua Egugbo, Victory Egugbo, Jewel Egugbo, Mercy Egugbo, Miracle Egugbo, Blessing Otuya, Destiny Uche Otuya, Miracle Otuya, Ogechukwu Otuya, and Paulight Great Otuya.
